Scenic flights from Nullarbor Roadhouse

22 September 2017

AS the weather warms up on the edge of the Nullarbor, the Southern Right Whales are now leaving the Far West Coast Marine Park, and heading for their summer home in the chilly waters of the Antarctic. The cows will be pregnant, and will return in 2018 to give birth (Southern Right Whales are pregnant for 11 – 12 months). A Southern Right Whale calf is 5 – 6m and will weigh 1 tonne to 1.5 tonne at birth. The calf will grow at an average rate of 3cm per day, and will be weaned at about 12 months of age.

As such, the last flights from the Nullarbor Roadhouse for 2017 will be at sunset, on Saturday, 23 September, 2017. The next flights available will be in the first week in June, 2018.

Flights are available all year around from our base at Ceduna. Tel (08) 86259051 or email info@chinta.com.au for more…
